There are four ways to travel from San Jose to Montezuma:
Car:
From San Jose take the highway to Puntarenas, where you take the ferry
to Paquera, (check with the hotel for the ferry schedule), once in the
Nicoya Peninsula you follow the signs to Montezuma.
Public Transport: From San Jose center, take the bus from the Puntarenas Bus Terminal to Puntarenas, This bus leaves you 4 kilometers from the Ferry to Paquera, which is easiest to get to by taxi, but can be walked in a half an hour. In Paquera, the Bus to Montezuma waits for the ferry passengers.

To Ferry users we recommend that you check with the hotel for and updated ferry schedule. Also, you should arrive early to ensure that there is space for you and your car. This service is approximate from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM with 6 departures daily and regular schedule changes.
