There are four ways to travel from San Jose to Montezuma:

Car: From San Jose take the highway to Puntarenas, where you take the ferry to Paquera, (check with the hotel for the ferry schedule), once in the Nicoya Peninsula you follow the signs to Montezuma.

Public Transport:
From San Jose center, take the bus from the Puntarenas Bus Terminal to Puntarenas, This bus leaves you 4 kilometers from the Ferry to Paquera, which is easiest to get to by taxi, but can be walked in a half an hour. In Paquera, the Bus to Montezuma waits for the ferry passengers.

Important:

To Ferry users we recommend that you check with the hotel for and updated ferry schedule. Also, you should arrive early to ensure that there is space for you and your car. This service is approximate from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM with 6 departures daily and regular schedule changes.
Plane:
Air Line Sansa makes two daily trips from the Juan Santamaría Airport to the Tambor airstrip.
Departs: 10:25 and 16:25.

Air Line Nature Air, makes two daily trips from the Tobias Bolaños Airport in Pavas, to the Tambor airstrip.

From Tambor, the hotel can arrange for a taxi to bring you to Luz de Mono, Montezuma. (30 Minutes)

Taxi Boat from Jacó: You can hire a boat taxi from Herradura Beach-Jacó that brings you directly to the Montezuma beach in less than an hour. . This service can also be arranged to and from other Pacific beaches on an individual basis.
